The theme this month is a scene involving a letter, package or post office in a film.
I have chosen a scene from The Young Victoria (one of my favourite scenes from the movie, actually).
Most of Victoria's and Albert's courtship consisted of them writing to each other, and there is this great scene that really underlines what that was like.
When a bell rings, indicating the arrival of the mail, we see Albert jumping up, leaving whatever he was doing behind, as he dashes through the entire house to see if any mail has arrived for him.
When he is told that there is indeed a letter for him, he quickly snags it up and rushes out to read it.
I just think it's such a cute scene, perfectly illustrating how it must have been to impatiently wait for letters from your love.

Oooooh, perfect selection, Rose!! :D I didn't even think of Young Victoria this month, but now you're making me remember all those darling letter scenes... Like the one where Albert's uncle and the minister of state (I'm pretty sure it was them) had already read his letter and Albert makes a comment like, "Do you mind if I read my own letters first?" And the minister is like, "Oh, she has a lovely style." ;D
ReplyDeleteGlad you like it:) Yes, I also love that scene, Albert's dry humor is the best:)
DeleteOh, I never thought of this one! I love it, Rose! (I really need to rewatch that movie, too...)
ReplyDeleteYes, you should definitely rewatch it! It's one of those few movies that only gets better every time:)
DeleteExcellent choice, Rose!! I really liked that scene when I watched the movie! Albert's excitement over receiving a letter from Victoria is so sweet. And yeah, Albert himself is just sweet. He was definitely my favorite character. :)
ReplyDeleteYes, it's his excitement about it all that makes me love the scene so much:) Almost all of my favourite scenes from this movie is something Albert does or says:9)
